Our client are a Global - 100% Irish owned manufacturing group operating a state of the art facility in the Midlands. Employing 600 people worldwide this group additionally have operations in the EU and USA and work with 50 customers designing, manufacturing and assembling products for the Automotive, Industrial and Healthcare sectors. Due to continued success they are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join their team in Westmeath and work across Innovation and Process Development. The Position. Reporting into the General Manager - the Technical Manager will work across Innovation and Process Development and will be responsible for all aspects of technology and engineering management across the business. Key responsibilities will include: To play a key role in the development of company technology and innovation strategy. To manage the acquisition and development of technical capability. To manage all Product and Process Development activity including new product development, new product introduction and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. The implementation of lean manufacturing practices and the promotion of a culture of continuous improvement. The Person. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science discipline and a Postgraduate qualification in business/management (desirable. 10 years' experience within the Automotive, Industrial or Healthcare sectors. Extensive manufacturing experience working across technology and innovation including senior management experience. Experience in implementing lean manufacturing and acquiring technology essential for new product development. Capability to organise and direct complex technical projects. Commercially aware, strategic thinker, proven leadership, innovation and business management skills. Strong commercial awareness. Highly developed coaching, mentoring and communication skills.
