The Sheraton Athlone Hotel has a full calendar of Conference & Banqueting events and Weddings throughout the year. Applications are invited from those at Commis Chef and Chef De Partie level. You will be given the opportunity to work in a fast-paced dynamic kitchen where you will gain experience in Banquets, Cafe/Carvery, Bar & Grill. Responsibilities: Contribute to the production of food items according to menu specifications. Be aware of and prepared for the business in house every day. Be familiar with the menu and with any "specials" of the day. Ensure all dishes are prepared to agreed standards. Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchent are prepared and presentated to agreed standards. Avoid unnecessary wastage and follow portion planning and control and to act in a cost effective, responsible manner. Ensure excellent food hygiene practice is observed in the entire food chain from storage through to preparation and service. Follow and adhere to HACCP compliance within the kitchen and all Food & Beverage outlets. Ensure the kitchen equipment is in working order; report any maintenance issues to your supervisor. Support team members to ensure the kitchen always exceeds guest exectations by consistently producing quality food. The successful candidates will meet the following criteria: Working knowledge of Food Hygiene/HACCP. 2-3 year’s experience at Commis or Chef de Partie level. Willingness to work within a team environment whilst using your initiative. Fluency in both written and spoken English. Qualified or part-qualified as a chef. Requirements: Experience in a busy kitchen on the Grill or on bar food. Good ability to handle pressurized situations and busy periods. Flexible, innovative and adaptable. Liaise with the sales force on a regular basis as regards quotations, orders, product queries, and general information from customers. Process billing corrections on time and in accordance with the company policy. Process returns from the customer on time and in accordance with the company policy. Requirements: Fluent in English and Dutch. Business or other relevant 3rd level qualification desirable. 6 months + working in a fast moving customer service environment. Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner. A self-starter / “Can do” approach and attitude. Ability to work effectively within multi-cultural team towards strict deadlines. Accuracy and attention to detail are paramount. Flexibility – willingness to help other colleagues to meet deadlines.
